  A recent plan has been released according to local authority from Lafayette that all the outdoor lighting system will be lit with new LED street lights served by LED street lighting manufacturers within three years.

  The lighting situation needs to be evaluated across the city, and different areas need different lighting conditions, different watts and different lamps. For example, the lighting in main streets such as Johnston Street is different from residential areas.

  “Actually, these LED lights consume only half as much electricity as compared to current traditional lamps and lasting longer means it can cut a great many maintenance bills.” A spokesperson from local authority said. “These street lights have better brightness and higher visual fidelity for goers, which is equal to fewer potential accidents. More benefits will be delivered to local pedestrians

  The total mounting money is about 7 million dollars within three years to convert current 18 thousand conventional lamps into LED street lights served by LED street lighting manufacturers. This plan will be finished in the middle of 2018.

  The light bulbs are expected to last about 15 years and the return on investment is about eight years. It is estimated that these lamps will last approximately 15 years and money return period will be in 8 years.

  He also adds, “Traditional street lamps will fade over time, and reduce the lights they emitted, while LEDs from LED street lighting manufacturers don’t. The lighting brightness can be adjusted, which make people feel peace-of-mind.”
